However, I liked how she was motherly towards some of the other queens, and helped them when they were struggling. #3 – Eureka: Despite being a bigger gal, Eureka was able to dance, do splits and cartwheels, was confident on the runway and went worked well with every role she was given. She was a loud character and did like to try and take over when put in a group. For my nail design, I was going to do something inspired by her stunning wedding dress look, but instead I used red and gold and flowers, which are things that she frequently dresses herself in and accessorizes with. I was very disappointed with her lip-sync, which led to her elimination, as she covered half her face with a mask (causing him to stop the lip-sync for the first time in RPDR history), and argued with Ru Paul to keep it on, as she hadn’t learnt the words. She is stunning and pulls off every look she creates. #2 – Valentina: a belle from Mexico, Valentina is one of my favourite queens. Her looks were glamorous and her makeup was always flawless. For my inspired nail design, I did red and white swirls to look like peppermint sweets, as well as a green and white accent nail just like her dress in the finale. She is a beautiful queen, who has such a kind heart and is nice to everyone. #1 – Peppermint: the first to enter the workroom was Peppermint. In this blog, I will be reviewing each of the season 9 queens (in order of entry into the workroom) and even showing you some nails I did inspired by some of the contestants (which I have posted on Instagram: ). I live in the UK, so cannot watch it when it is aired, but I have been keeping up with it by watching online, and it has become my favourite TV series to date. RuPaul’s Drag Race is an American reality TV series which documents the competition between around 12-14 drag queens to become “America’s next drag superstar”, hosted and judged by drag queen, model and singer RuPaul, along with guest celebrity judges. It has been a huge breakthrough in the LGBTQ community, as it has been embraced by a growing audience and has encouraged many people to be more understanding and accepting of the drag, gay and transgender lifestyle.
